BigBox-Ed is an education platform used by learners, teachers, and school administrators to share lessons, assignments, submissions, and related learning files. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and how users can contact us about privacy requests.

Information We Collect

  • Account details such as name, surname, email address, role, password hash, and email verification status.
  • Learning records such as enrolled subjects, lessons viewed or downloaded, assignments, submissions, marks, and feedback.
  • Uploaded files and related metadata such as file name, file type, file size, upload path, and submission date.
  • Device and notification data such as push notification tokens when the mobile app is used.
  • Basic technical data such as IP address, browser/app user agent, session information, and security logs.

How We Use Information

  • To create and manage learner, teacher, and administrator accounts.
  • To provide access to lessons, assignments, file downloads, submissions, feedback, and grades.
  • To send important account, verification, assignment, and password reset messages.
  • To protect the platform from misuse, unauthorized access, spam, and abuse.
  • To improve reliability, troubleshoot issues, and maintain the service.

Files and Storage

Lesson attachments and learner submissions may be stored using Backblaze B2 cloud storage. The platform generates time-limited upload and download links so files can be transferred directly between the user device and Backblaze. Files should only be uploaded if they are relevant to the educational purpose of the platform.

Mobile App Offline Use

The mobile app may cache lesson information, assignment information, and downloaded files on the user's device so learning material remains available offline. Users are responsible for keeping their device secure.

Sharing of Information

Learner information may be visible to the relevant teachers and authorized administrators for educational and support purposes. We do not sell personal information. Information may be shared with service providers that help operate the platform, such as email delivery, push notifications, hosting, database, and cloud file storage providers.

Security

We use reasonable technical and administrative measures to protect accounts and files, including password hashing, role-based access controls, authenticated routes, and time-limited file links. No online system is completely risk-free, so users should use strong passwords and report suspicious activity.

Retention

We keep account, learning, assignment, and submission records for as long as needed to provide the service, meet educational requirements, resolve disputes, maintain backups, and comply with applicable obligations. Administrators may archive or remove accounts according to platform policy.

User Choices and Requests

Users may request help with account access, password resets, correction of account details, or privacy-related questions by contacting the platform administrator. Some records may need to be retained where required for legitimate educational, security, or legal reasons.

Children and Learners

The platform is intended for educational use. Where learners are minors, use should be managed by the relevant school, teacher, parent, guardian, or authorized administrator according to applicable school and legal requirements.
